01xtreme
I ordered my alt last sunday. I ordered a 280 Amp alt. I went with the Amputator series since it has 150 or so amps at idle, and they peak right around 2k rpms. I will post some pics when it comes it and put it in. On a side note, I have decided to pull out my back seats to allow for a bigger box, and a place to mount so new amps, so it looks like I will have room enough for an extra battery. now I was wondering if I can make just one run of 1/0 for the second battery, or if I need 2. 01xtreme
Well, Me and Jon(EpicenterDesigns) installed my new alternator today...and it works very well. Before when I would turn my amp up very loud at idle my voltage would drop to damn near 10 volts, but now Jon said the lowest number he saw was 13.8. well worth the money in my opinion. the only problem we ran into is having to buy a belt that is 1 inch longer...other than that it was really straight forward. Now for the pics. Here is the stock alternator, and you can see the positive wire from my big 3. This is the side by side of the new and old alternator. And finally here is the new alternator installed. sorry for the shitty lighting in the last one, i took the pic in my garage with the door down.
