CrashHole
Thats not much compared to a single amp that can draw 300+ amps. Now imagine 2 or more of those. No matter how hot she is, someone, somewhere, is sick of her shit. 99 Tahoe: 2-10" MA Audio 4-6.5" Kenwood door speakers Total Amp Sony HU

Boon
this is not true all of the time thoug. i am 100% certain when i am at full tilt i am way past the limit of my alternator which is only 130 amps. i added 2 extra batteries for a total of 3 and my headlights stopped dimming right away. Plain old science says you're mistaken ;/ A battery physically cannot make more than like 12.2v - you can get them to float at 13.x by 'training' your batteries but to say that more batteries made a difference is to laugh in the face of both chemistry and physics. 10.x volts fo' life! Boon
what battery sits at 12.2 volts? hell even a stocker will sit close to 13 volts these days The forward voltage of a Lead + Sulphuric Acid reaction is 2.04v A normal battery has 6 'cells' in series giving 12.24v. If you warm it the voltage increases a little (I think?) but I don't think it's a huge amount... A standard lead-acid battery should sit at around 2.15v/cell. 10.x volts fo' life! bassbaker15
I added a battery for a friend, and his lights stoped dimming... he is pulling 200A... they do get dim when playing at full tilt, but you dont really notice them dimming and getting brighter in spirts when the bass hits.. thats what i dont like Team Deadly Hertz 1997 GMC 1500 Update.... brewer_brewer
i agree with the postee. battery's don't make 14.4volts. because if they did then you would have a 16 volts alternator to keep it charged. (don't comment if you have a 16 volt alternator and a 16 volt system) REFS http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/forum/itrader.php?u=2026 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/44535-official-brewer-brewer-feedback/page__p__625998__hl__brewer__fromsearch__1entry625998 "you're not allowing natural selection to work, you're like the guy that invented the seatbelt"

Ipod
So you get your first ~60A (maybe 600w worth of sound) at 14.4v Then you get your next 500A - 5kw! - at 12.2v Then you get into serious shit, voltage will drop like crazy, you risk the car stalling out or damage to the battery... ^^ IIRC, if the voltage drops to around 10 or less volts.. kiss your PCM good bye.. and that cost a hunk of change.. and i mean $$ (depending the the vehicle) Hustle hard, Stack paper, It's alright, ya'll haters, It's nothing, We major, You see me, Hi Hater! =) ~ Manio
