brsteinbach Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 My cuz's left rear door speaker is making a cloudy noise on low volume and starts to pop and crackle when you turn it up. I have no idea whats up with this, we've tried multiple speakers and the wires aren't crossed. We are getting really :censored: MAD because we can't figure this out. Any help would be appreciated, thank you. Oh and BTW its straight from the HU not an amp. 2 Infinity Reference 1252w 12s 4.2 cubic foot box tuned to 28hz Sub amp: 1 Profile AP1200 Speaker amp: 1 Sony Xplod XM-504z Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X492 4 and 8 Gauge Knu Big III In 1/0 All in my 90 Accord Diamonds are forever, but 9's end that shit fast....

camino_1to3 Posted March 16, 2009 Report Posted March 16, 2009 It probably isn't the Head Unit, what kind of speaker wire are you using? Are you splicing different sizes, if so which sizes and at what points? I would also go back and check the wiring harness from the head unit to the car harness, and to the fuse box where it is plugged in (most likely). Audioguy564 Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 One of my MB quart Q's was making that noise and it was the surround that was unglued in an area about an inch long. just put a bit of glue and it was all better. it can be a wide range of things, time to troubleshoot.
