Denis22
Whats up. So i have a little system going on. Just got sub and sub amps installed the other day. For starters I upgraded my underhood wires, the big 3, all to 1/O wire. Upgraded alternator to 200A alt. from Natahn @ excessive amperage. Have 3 amps.. 2 Alpine MRD-M850's and a JL Audio 300/4. Clarion drz-9255 h/u. Sub = Re Audio 06 XXX, one Alpine/coil. Sub is dual 2 ohm version. Front stage = JL Audio zr5.25csi, i know overpriced but i bought them well over a year and a half or 2 years ago they sound great. 1/O wire running from batt. to trunk where the dist. blocks are. When i'm driving the lights still dim pretty badly. I was wondering if anyone had any further suggestions on what I should do? Thanks for the help, and im new to the forum also. ChevyBoy
how clean are your grounds? how many batteries?

dleccord
sand your grounds down to bare metal, use the biggest fuse for that wire you can afford, but check your gains and set it properly. that is not a lot of power really to be dimming. i assume all your power wires are 4 gauge to the amps? Denis22
oh sorry, yeah 1/O from batt. to dist. block, 4 gauge from dist. block to all 3 amps. the reason im askig this is because the amps have over 200A worth of fuses in them, 75 per alpine, and the jl says it pulls ~60A in the manual. and then fact. equipment and all the rest. just wondering if there is a more efficient way besides having to make a bracket for a 250A+ alt. because i have a small engine, (3.1L) and a cramped engine bay (96 chevy lumina)

Very wise, my young apprentice. j/k Yes A 2nd battery is EXACTLY what you need. A 200 amp alt can probably charge 2 extras as well and Id bet money that ur bass gets louder too. REDTOPS FTW!
