depending on how big the hole is... if its big enough it will lower and louden your exhaust tone.

would i sound like a fart can? or would it sound good?

Once or twice I have missed having a back seat / rear hatch, but all in all people love to see a walled vehcile. It just screams "i'm not fucking around with my setup, im loud"

But also depending on how big it is etc, it will also most likely make it sound like absolute crap.

What kind of car is it? That will also make a big difference. On my v6 I got a hole in the pipe right before the muffler, and surprisingly enough it didn't sound all that bad. I still wouldn't suggest trying it though. If you want a better sound save up for a quality exhaust.

Think about it this way. If it made it sound better why wouldn't everyone be doing it?

My guess would be complete and utter dog shit.

Its called a muffler for a reason. It muffles the exhaust sound, otherwise they are very loud and harsh.

Just leave the muffler alone or buy a catback exhaust for your car. Dont be one of those super loud obnoxious people driving through the neighborhood at night with a fucked up exhaust.

get a decent muffler if your going on the cheap....removing your cat (if legal) can also give you car a much more aggressive sound.

are you talking about drilling out the baffles in your muffler? or just drilling some random-ass hole in the exhaust?

if you drill out the baffles properly it will make it alot louder, it is hit or miss on how good it sounds though. trial and error.

i drilled out the baffles on my dad's cbr1000rr and it made it sound like a ducati.

so it could make it sound better or could make it sound worse. it'll be def. be louder though.
