davewms9605
Hey guys, big question here. I ve been doing basic installs for a few years so i know a little bit about basic wiring. But, when it comes to boxes and major builds, im a lost cause. Can anyone out there tell me if its possible to build a box with 8, 10 inch American Bass XD subs? It's going in a 1987 Buick Grand National Clone. I want to be able to build it for my trunk, if not, maybe a wall but i prefer the trunk... davewms9605
i was stating that i prefer sealed, but if i have to port it, then i want it around 29-35 hertz. wasnt sure about the tuning thats why im looking for some greatly apreciated help. The subs are dual 4 ohms and have 400 rms each. the amps i do have are 2 american bass VFL 150 amps which are stable down to 1 ohm @ around 1200 watts Edited March 25, 2009 by davewms9605 Quote Current Setup: Sony CDX-7401UI 2- 12" Alpine TypeR DVC2ohm Subs Custom ported box 4-American Bass 6.5in SQ-6B Mids 4-Pioneer TS-T15 Tweeters 2-Crunch P1500.1 Mono Amps 2-runs 1/0 GA KnuKonceptz KnuKonceptz RCA's 1-Stinger SPV44 Battery Coming soon: 250 Amp Alt Custom Door Panels Second Skin Sound Deadner All in my 1986 Monte Carlo SS!!! Forevrbumpn
doesnt sound like a hard box at all I would do 4 boxes, or 2 boxes, each box with 2 or 4 subs in it, depending if ported, fir ports back... Because with that many subs, unless you line the back seat, and sides with subs, the next best style is just fire subs up in a removable box Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy. tibs
you have 53" at the opening of the trunk right? davewms9605
i Have 53" at the trunk so, if you guys mean like 2 subs lining the back seat and then 3 on each side of the trunk, which means the subs are firing towards each each other in a sealed configuration. Im new at this so please dont judge me. Lol...
