do some resin or another pvc quarter along the bottom back of the box... so the air exiting/entering the port isnt shoved against a 90 degree angle right away

brace the pvc ports maybe with something small... it is a lvl5 u know, destruction is the name of the game

what kind of bracing are u doing for the box panels?

looking good, has potential

I didnt think about that, thx for the idea :), I just make it like i did my last corners and tilt the box with the resin in the corner and let it dry, should make for a decent corner.

and for bracing im gonna go some dowel rods, top to bottom, front to back, on each side right above the port and then also 2-3 layers of resin and mat in the corners. The ports will be braced with some MDF going from one side, to the top, then back down, about 8" total from the wall of the box, my main thing is time, trying to get this all together in a timely manner, another thing this is this is only my second box that i have personally done all the work to so im still learning, and i really appreciate all the feedback u guys give me and the little tips and tricks. :)

Im debating if i wanna take the time to use a filler and sand it smooth then paint it, or if i should carpet it. Thats still a toss up right now.

fill and sand, then use fleckstone or something like that... its more durable than carpet and can easily be touched up... whereas carpet u have to redo the whole thing

fill and sand i will, hope to have this done by this weekend if i can find the time :)

  • 5 months later...

wow so after almost 6 months i finally got an amp and time to finish this thing up. Ill get some pics up when i get the box finished and my truck cleaned out. Im really hoping to have this thing done by SBN so i can go and do some demo's but i dont like the box i have now i feel its to big and cone control is gonna be a big issue i have a feeling. Gonna get one more battery to help my voltage a little even with the massive i was only dropping to 12.8 with one extra battery but im hoping one more will help that till i can afford another alt. then ill go with a recone and new amp.
