white4d96 Posted April 10, 2009 Report Posted April 10, 2009 Okay, so I'm running two Alpine Type S-10s with a tiny Sony amp, prefab freebie sealed box, subs up, invert mount. Issue is, i turn it up and i get a crazy rattle from the back. If i turn it down, it goes away. I can't tell for the life of me if this is just trunk rattle, or if my amp is clipping. Seeing how my last sub did that and is now roasted, I don't want to wait and find out. Any advice? BTW-nobody within like eighty gazillion miles of me has an o-scope that i'm aware of =/ thanks all Austin EDIT: it's still there after switching to subs forward. Too many projects, too little time...

You can't expect them to travel up some dirt road in a hick / back woods town. Thats how horror movies start I explain things very simply and use analogies in terms of Pickles, and grape drink, pool noodles and jackhammers...if you can't put 2 and 2 together there man, There simply is not much more I can do.

(well, dependant on which way its hooked up) 1997 Pontiac Grand Am SE Broke stock Head Unit Stock speakers suck -if I get a job, it gets 2 SA 8s in a 2.5cube box (roughly 2 cube with the port and woofers in)- -oh, and a new HU and some speakers that dont suck. and possibly a new muffler and tint job (previous owners tint is smudging in the back, if you know how to get tint off a window without damaging the heating stuff, let me know!!!)-
BanginOnABudget Posted April 12, 2009 Report Posted April 12, 2009 !!BY BATTERY THEY MEAN A 9 VOLT!! but you should be able to tell is if its the subs or the car.... if ur box isnt bolted down, move it and see if that fixes the problem, or changes the rattle. its probly the car if it changes. it may be ur subs cooling vents, but that wouldnt be very loud. years back i had 2 10" mtx's and i figured it was the sub making the noise, but it was actually the air hitting the mesh cooling vents. im taking out my passenger seat, battery is disconnected, going to unwire and take out the three amps, take out the 70+ lb box, then the platform so i can crimp 1 wire. Almost as bad as those fegs that put those horns in their grills and roll down the street distorting the block.... 1990 Jeep Cherokee 2 Dr. Big-3 in 0g on Stock Alt.
