newls1
I've been drooling over some of Steve's install pic on chickens hoopty, and noticed (I THINK) we went from the back of the alts directly to the back batts. I'm only using a sub 3000watt stereo setup, and was hoping just wiring it this way would be ok: Alt 1 (run a short 0ga power wire to ALT2) then ALT 2 to the front batt..... Will this be OK? Bass4Lyfe
How big are your als? I wouldn't do it this way ... say you have (2) 300A alts... if i get what ur saying, this means that (1) run of 1/0 (albeit short) needs to carry 600 amps .... that's not good Quote ~Matthew 1998 Toyota Camry XLE V6 3L (1) ScyTek Astra 4000RS-2W-1 2-Way Remote Start Alarm with Shock and Proximity (1) 20% Tint All Around (Gately Audio) (1) 250 Amperage HO Alternator (1) Big 3 Done In 1/0 (2) Kinetik HC2400 Power Cell (1) Alpine IVA-D106 Receiver (1) Peripheral Video Bypass Device (4) Alpine SPS-17C2 Speakers (1) Alpine KCE-422i iPod Control Interface (4) Sheets Dynamat Extreme; for speakers (1) 10 Square Feet Hushmat (Trunk & Rear Deck) (4) DC Audio Level 4 15" D2 Subwoofer w/ Level 5 Coils (1) Wall Built By David, Tuned to 32 Hz (1) Rockford Fosgate T40001bd Amplifier (1) Stinger 1/0 Wiring (2 runs of + 2 runs of -) (1) Stinger Volt Meter

Bass4Lyfe
okay, that would help. 300a through a short run should be ok - if it were my car i'd fuse it .... Here you go, PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU WOULD DO. I can simply just remove the 2 0ga wires from the front batt, and simply plug them into both alts, (this way I wont have to buy more wire) this way the back batts will have stright up alt power. I can have 1 go into one bat, and another go into the other batt (See what im saying) would this be a better use of my new electrical setup, then what im currently doing? I think it seems better. This way my kenitics can pull power direct from the alts and not from my POS front exide orbital. (I will still use 1 run of 0ga from my primary alt to the front batt thought, if this makes sense.) Here are the pics. And yes, all my runs are fused! Quote I love my staffie So anti FACEBOOK it isn't even funny
newls1
How is this drawing? This is pretty much what I was trying to explain in my above post. Would this be a better way to run my power wires, to maximize the use of 2 alts? ****EDIT Actually, if I did it this w ay, the front batt, wont be connected with the rear batts...shit, guys, help me out here.**** Edited April 20, 2009 by newls1 Quote I love my staffie So anti FACEBOOK it isn't even funny
newls1
Here is another sketch up of maybe a better way to wire this. Damn, I hope this is the better way, as I wont have to buy any more 0ga..... Quote I love my staffie So anti FACEBOOK it isn't even funny
Team_DC-Derrick
why not just do both alts to the batt up front instead of alt to alt? or just run 1 alt per batt in the back and just use the one up front for the accessories in the car?
