86 S10 Lowering Block Help

Alright so I as of now have a 3in. lowering block kit on my 86 S10. I'm looking to drop it another 2-3 inches.

Can I add another set of lowering blocks to the ones already on it? Like stack em?

Or would shackles help me any here?? Also, when do I need to get diff. shocks to accomadate the lowering??

Edit: My front end sits like 2-2 1/2 inches from the ground and with the 3in. in the rear it has a street rod type of look... Which I hate. lol I want it evened out nicely.

An airbag set-up is outta the question for now.

it will not be safe to add blocks, not to mention its against the law! just do the math and get a bigger block kit... maybe even do a block and shackle kit for a nice ride.

damn i hate when i have to ask this, because i should try and remember it but are your springs under or over your axle?

maybe this time i will comprihend this!

no dont atck blocks. its not safe. either get a larger block kit or do drop leafsprings plus blocks.

This is what it looks like under my 85 S10 Truck....

As you can see you have about 4" before you hit the stopper on these trucks...

I know my truck sits real high stock so if using a 3" block didn't get you low enough the next option (DO NOT STACK BLOCKS) is to take that bottom helper spring, flip it upside down and put it on top of the stack to "Flatten" out your leafs. This may get you alittle lower but it also may take longer shackles in the rear to get it done.

If your running stock shocks you should be ok and they should'nt be bottomed out yet but at some point your going to be hitting the stoppers (Yeah, you can cut/remove them but then your hitting the frame).

Not sure what you do with your truck, mine is my hoopty, Home Depot, Garbage running, just throw it in the back truck so I haven't and won't touch the suspension. BTW...Nothing wrong with a raked look. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/dirol.gif

1low - Thats exactly what mine looks like.. But my axle is about an inch longer than wear yours is.. Is that normal with a truck on blocks?? I suck at uploading pics but I can sure send em via pic msg from phone if ya want. lmk if ya want to see em.

I took all the springs except the main leaf out.This is what i endend up with and had 3" block but it road on the frame.Drove it like this for 3 yrs with no problems only the ride sucked.

I did a 3" drop all the way around on my truck. You can change the springs all together in the back and go with 3" lowered leaf but, if you do that you probably wanna go with a 1" or 2" block. a 3" block without an angle and your driveline is gonna rattle. even if you just put in a 4" drop block make sure it has an angle as well.

Maybe raise the front up. You could go with a 2" drop spindle in the front and put the stock springs back in. That might at least level out the truck.
