neutman21 Posted April 22, 2009 Report Posted April 22, 2009 So I am trying to use JL Audio's tutorial on setting my 500/1 and my 300/4. I got the test tone cd recorded at 0db for 50hz and 1000hz and I tried both amps. 17.3 is my desired voltage on my 300/4 and 38.7 on my 500/1. ( I will be running a 10w7-3). I tried the cd after turning everything off (bass and treble on cd player, bass boost, etc.) and I am not able to get those voltages on either amp. Am I using the multimeter wrong??? what setting on the multimeter does it need to be??? and I am also using an audiocontrol eql and audiocontrol 24xs with each set to its desired inputs and outputs according to the manual. And I even tried to set the voltages on the amps without the audiocontrol units and I got the same turnout....why am I not able to get these required voltages???? THE BASS KICKS AND THE HEADS TURN. You want the AC volts setting on the multimeter, probably on about a 50v range if it has one... 10.x volts fo' life!
