white4d96 Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 If I have a 2-channel amp running at 4 ohms bridged, powering two 4-ohm subs, do I have to run wires to just one sub and then from said sub to the other? Can I just run two separate leads from the amp, one to each sub? or will that change the impedance? Too many projects, too little time...

Cuz I was told to do as I said above (wire to one woofer then from woofer to woofer) but I can't get the two wires that are in one woofer to stay in the terminals. Subs are DVC 4-ohm and using 12-ga. speaker wire, if that helps. Too many projects, too little time...

Subs are DVC 4-ohm and using 12-ga. speaker wire, if that helps. If they are DVC then you have it wired to 1 ohm. Ohms / Number of drivers = ohm load. If wired in parrael. if you cant fit the wire in the speaker teminals its fine to run 2 wires out of your bridged amp. sold everything

According to the diagram from the manufacturer's website, my current setup has them set at 4 ohms each. Too many projects, too little time...
myveryown07 Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 a dvc 4 ohm sub can't be wired to 4 ohm by itself. it can be put down to 2. and wiring them together would give you a 1ohm load. what are you trying to do?
