rusty959 Posted May 13, 2009 Author Report Posted May 13, 2009 whatcha gonna do with the amp if you know?? i would make a center console with the amp and alot of goodies such as toggle stiwches, gauges, LED systems, a storage tray, cup holders(made from big thick plastic cups that you glass in place and paint) and a shit load of those lil 12 volt fans for amp cooling, aswell as a built in 8" sub or a 6.5" center channel. yeah, ive had a long time to plan stuff like that. >.> Somewhere Ive got a post that kinda told what I would do. I posted a link to the start I made, but im going to scrap it (link here) Anyways, im not sure how much im going to end up glassing, but I probably won't do a full console. The amps will end up being on the sides of the rear seats. I also don't feel like I should start on any of it until I decide on if I want to rebuild this box... does anyone know how much weight I would save if I built this from birch? Ive got almost two sheets in it. Ive got the subs pulled out (more work than it seems it should be worth), braced the box a bit, grinded down those corners a bit more to be able to handle the added thickness of glass, and glassed it all up. Now all of the seams of the port is glassed up with anywhere from one to 5 or so layers depending on how much I thought it needed. Now unfortunately after my gf got there and I was taking pics, the camera batteries died, and I had no replacements.
