I'm currently running a 2 farrad cap, but recently purchased a kinetik hc600(small i know, but will do for now) and I'm going to swap them. I know caps don't compare to batts in performance, but I was wondering if I should run the batt and cap? I would like to know if its even worth the 1/0 to wire it in, or could it hinder my performance in any way?

For extended music Caps are fine, but in comps small caps can actually hurt numbers. Not by much but around .2 db or so.I always try to get a 15 farad or larger or none at all and just do batts.

I don't remember who said it or whos sig it is in but caps are for when you have no voltage loss and you want to make the peaks of the bass hits stronger.

in most cases caps take away amps from your alternator instead of keeping that power to go towards your amp.

thanks guys, I gather from the above information that I should just part with the cap and stick to batts.

Another question:

Should I run the ground from my amp to the ground on my second batt or have separate grounds?
