fritosaregood Posted February 22, 2011 Author Report Share Posted February 22, 2011 So ive done a few more things, took lots of pics, but they are still on the camera and its way over there right now, haha. but i did another box for the xxx's to get some music in when I'm building my newest and maybe final box for a while. The box was 5.5 cubes with a 13x7 or 7.5 inch port tuned to 36~7 hz. I tried to tune higher to see if the xxx's would play higher frequencies at all.. and still not so much. so i got bored with that and took it out. I tried to sell the xxx local to avoid shipping and ended up trading for 3 alpine type r 12s in a bass shaker box, managed a 148+ out of it though, on the 2 1500s strapped at 2.6 ohms. so i guess those boxes are pretty ok. i used those 12s in my buddies truck along with one of his to cram 4 12s in a single cab. its nice and loud. I also sold him one of my 1500s and am waiting on money for the second 1500. he is switching to SA 12s soon. so... that means i have no more sundown amps.. :-( my new amps in store are 3 addictive audio 500.1s, I would have gone with 3 saz4500s but then i would have to move up in my usaci class. and the addictives are only rated 500 at 4 ohms and do about the same power. Right now i have 1 and am waiting on a check to clear in the back to pay for the other 2. I also got some Fi bl 10s from a friend and decided to play with them. I recycled the newest XXX box for the 10s, I blocked off the back part of the box to lower the internal volume to 2.87 cubes after displacement. still with the big ass port. Im kind of confused with it right now though because the box program shows the box is now tuned to 45~6 hz but it peaks at 35hz in the kick and 33 on the dash. So this box tuned at 45hz with 33 sq inches of port per cube plays incredibly well at 35 hz on 4~5k?? but anyway, I put that in there and drove to a midwestspl comp, i didnt get any testing done before that show, but amazingly picked a great song that peaked very close to where the box peaked. fritosaregood Posted May 3, 2011 Author Report Share Posted May 3, 2011 Well... the Nightshade 15s are finally in!!! the box is ultimately a fail right now because its a little under a half inch over the window line :-( right now i have 3 of the 15s on one addictive audio 500.1 the box was designed to use 2 10" ports but only has 2 8" ports right now since its what i had laying around.
