Nova
I'm looking to upgrade my system and I'm not to knowledged on subs/amps, etc... So I've been browsing and I was wondering if the Hifonics Brutus amps are any good. I'm looking at getting 2 12" FI BL's for daily use and either 1 or 2 Hifonics BXI 2610D's. I'm sure I could get away with one but I'm not an audio guru, and it wouldn't be bad to have the amps ready for a sub upgrade if I wanted. Any help is appreciated. Also, Would I need an electrical upgrade with 2 of those amps? I already have a high output alternator running low grade sub/amp set up... 2x 12" Xplod's with 2x 760 W max amps. Team_DC-Derrick
i would say 2 1610 hifonics would be nice... or 1 2600 if you got d4 ohm config to wire to 1 ohm Quote The DC Integra 3 18s to 6 15 build log Team_DC-Derrick's Youtube Team DC Audio where theres a will theres a wall....... tristan560
Not a bad amp for the price, you could also look at the audioque 2200's just about the same price. yes you would want to look into adding a battery or two. I've just read how to tune amps. I know very little about the details of wiring. I'll be researching alot when I actually get my new subs and amp to install them properly so any info you have I would love it. Quote stop making sense you'll kill the argument. Earth, you feel me? Beanz
taht 2606 will do all right just remeber that the hifonics brutus line is a bit over ratted so really you'll be getting abotu 2200 or 2400 rms from that amp. Team_DC-Derrick
well, if you had 2 2610s you would put about 2400 to each BL, now i know people can do it but i wouldnt, just me... the wiring configuration im speaking about is off of http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_c...sp?Q=2&I=42 so if you run the 2610 you would see about 1200 rms per sub give or take... im saying get dual 4 ohm coil config to drop it to 1 ohm like this Edited May 14, 2009 by Army_guy614 Quote The DC Integra 3 18s to 6 15 build log Team_DC-Derrick's Youtube Team DC Audio where theres a will theres a wall....... Nova
oh i didnt know.. my bad ! i dont have FI and just know their rms is around 1000 or 1500 Thanks for the input guys. So 1 of those amps should do just fine. Now should I add a battery in the back or will I be alright running just the one amp? I'm in a '93 S-10 Blazer in Mint condition.
