4 Soundstream 12's In A Standard Cab Dime

Recommended Posts

So today i went all the way to York, Pennsylvania for the east coast nationals street rod show. While i was there i found some good things, like this voltage gauge. Tomorrow im getting started on the center console and ill have the other 2 woofers in the box and wired. its starting to move along now. If i have time ill start on a frame for the battery box. & if somebody could explain what the "big 3" are id really appreciate it. iv seen it all over but im not quite sure what it is.

Got started on the console tonight. I went with a 7" wide console, 34" long. I started with a 1/2" base that i cut, bent, and glued to give me the contour of the floor. I only cut the last 19" so that I would have 15" of Solid mdf to mount the amp stand too. this was my first time trying to bend the mdf like this. i think it came out good.

Thanks guys, i wanted the box clean and simple. I really wanted to port this box but there was just no way to do it. There simply wasnt enough airspace. I could have ported 2, or sealed 4. I chose to seal the 4. i think it was more of a challenge to fit the 4.

So after some thinking i ditched my console & started fresh. went to a comp and did a 136.8 with 2 10"s, it won my class, was 3.7 dB's louder than the sealed box. but anyway, tomorrow the 10's come out and the 12's go in!

Im waiting on the resin to dry now, going out tonight but ill be working on it more tomorrow. gotta sand it and decide how i want to cover it, then gonna drill some holes for some all thread to use as my speaker terminals. hopefully my first amp will get here this week and then ill be starting on my center console. i still havent decided how im going to mount the amps nd still be able to get to the adjustment screws. im hoping to pull like mid or high 140's with this box in my truck. Im going from street 1 to modified 4 in one step.

stepping into my class eh? :)

build looks good, gonna sound real nice looks like
