Putting An Amp On My Door Speakers......

Recommended Posts

Posted

Okay so alot of people have like about 1000 watts (which im sure its really not true wattage) on their stock door speakers... how do they not blow? do they not have their amp up even half way? But anyways my friends tell me to put 1000watts on my door speakers but i have the 6.5 kicker speakers (4) which can hold like 350watts total. So if i were to even put like 500watts on them wouldnt they blow?? but I would be better off putting a zx350.4(or whatever the watts is) right?

Thanks for the help!

since there only a 50 rms speaker id go with a 200.4 that way it give you 50 watts per speaker(right at rms )and its at 4 ohms

lol. but i haven't and i don't plan on it. plus i'd probably miss and hit her belly button or her ear or something. lol.

Your friend obviously doesn't know the difference between MAX and RMS power. The only amp I know that will do 1000w full range is the new DD S2 (1100x2@1 ohm) and if you put that on a single pair of cheap speakers it would blow the cones out of the baskets.
