so i'm getting ready to do the big 3 , but my engine ground to frame is on the opp. side of the batt, does it really need to be on the same side as the batt ground to frame or is it alright to just run it on the other side along with the stock one?

My engine ground to frame is also on the opposite side as the battery, you should be fine. Just clean the ground points down to bare metal so you're not grounding to paint.
