It works fine with the subs hooked up now. I honestly dont have a clue what could have caused the protect, other than the remote wire trying to pull out or something. It's working now, so Im hoping that's all it was.

I still would check each coil of the sub out, thats a expensive amp. They may be messing up a small amout. Which the amp detects and kicks into protect. good luck

can do. I have each coil wired to a lug on the side of the box, would that be sufficient for checking out the coils, or should I yank them out of the box? I really hate pulling those bastards out, 70 pound subs mounted vertically sucks.

Nevermind, Im going to have to pull them out because I only have 1 set of lugs for each sub, I can't check the coils individually. damn...this is going to suck.

Check the surface of the fuse holder for any corrosion or buildup of crap. If it was slightly loose then you get a buildup of this oxide crap on the holder which creates resistance.
