partsguyMN Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 New guy here with a question hopefully someone can help. I'am getting extremely bad engine noise through my RF components and I can't stand it. I have a 2001 Blazer Extreme with a pioneer deh-7800mp with 5 volt preouts, a memphis Mclass 75x4 for the highs, RF T2001bd, 4 T1 12s, RF three way 6x9s And RF 6.5 components, 2 yellow tops (one in front, one in the rear). Everything is 0/1 gauge. Power wires ran on the right side of the vehicle, rca's on the left side. Everything is either grounded to a battery or the frame. I have went through it twice now thinking maybe it was the wiring and its not, everything is seperated. Taken it to 2 different stereo shops and they say that the voltage in my deck is too high and the amp can't handle it. Then they try to sell me a new deck or a line level. I've never heard of this before. Is this possible? I just want this problem solved and thought I ask the guys with the mos knowledge. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Zade08 Posted June 3, 2009 Report Posted June 3, 2009 wrap speaker wire around each end of the rca plug and then ground that down to either the back of the deck or the actual ground coming off the deck. Theres plenty of tuts for it all over the net if you need pictures. Just search. Vehicle: 2001 Ford Escape Head Unit: Kenwood Kdc-x592 All out for a rebuild. New shit coming in the next 30 days.

Yeah, I've been dealing with it for 2 onths now since I got his new setup, and I really didn't want to cough up the cash for a new head unit.
