meade916
yes....you should also do your engine ground too the same size. Its part of the big 3. How much power are you running? zaxfire69
Right now only about 600 watts. I have 2 Punch P112s4's. On a small Sony amp. What size wire would you recommend say up to 1500 watts. That will probably be the maximum I would run anytime in my car. The P1's probably wouldn't take that much, but for future upgrades the wire would already be there. Also your site, vehicles rock. You have a great forum here I am trying to learn as much from you guys as I can. I have been doing this stuff for awhile now. Just like to get tips and more knowledge from real professionals and that is what you guys are..Professionals...Thanks for the help.. civichatch
bigger wire is always better. If your looking to upgrade your system down the road you might as well upgrade the components around it now. Go 1/0 gauge. But if your only planning on having 1500 watts MAX. then just got 4 gauge. That should be adiqute. Somone correct me if im wrong though. By the way how do u like ur p1's. I lovvvee mine. zaxfire69
Well thanks Civichatch. So far I love mine. They haven't given me any trouble at all. I bought them from a Local shop here. Paid $150 for the pair. I would love to run 4 12's and I may do that in the future. I would love to build a ported box for 4 12's to fit my Trunk. But as you all know my box building skills aren't up to par. I am going to attempt a ported box for 2 as soon as I get my car Fat Matted..In the process of doing that..So on my Civic You would run 1/0 guage. So as far as my altenator how would that effect it? Would it charge better? I want to guy a Iraggi Altenator, I sent an email to see if they made one for my car. Hopefully they do. Also plan on getting another Battery, Then a better amp...I see you got your suspension done.
zaxfire69
When you talk about the big 3 Steve what exactly do you mean..I know the Altenator to the battery that is 1. zaxfire69
Hey guys is doing the big 3 supposed to make a noticable difference right off the bat..I installed my grounds last night and I just went outside to make sure everything was still working as it is supposed to and it sound like my subs were louder than before I installed the grounds..Does that make sense...I didn't really turn them up loud but the subs sounded louder...Could this be or am I just crazy?? I am installing my altenator wire tonight when I get home...
meade916
normally i would say that YES, upgraging the ground might be noticeable but knowing you didnt do the positive wire yet i cant say for sure. I would also have to see what it looked like before you did that. run that + wire and get back to us! civichatch
after doing the BIG 3. I noticed a difference. I wouldnt say it was a huge difference but in the end i still know its helping the electrical. I just used some left over 4 gauge power wire. And 4 12's in that trunk would kick ASSS. Im thinking of just buying anotha p1 15 and wiring them to 2 ohms. Instead of upgrading to 1 new 15. I think 2 p1 15's would still be louder then 1 T1 15.
