I decided to try something I've never seen before. I've always used headphones while I mow the yard. I got a new mower the other day and decided to try upgrading the electrical and putting a small system on it. I started a couple days ago by putting a Stinger SPV35 battery normally used for a Honda upgrade. I replaced the power / ground with 4 gauge and new terminals. I plan on mounting a small amp on the back of the seat next with a decent set of outdoor speakers on the caster legs. Instead of a head unit I think I'll get a 3.5 to stereo cable from my phone and use it as the source. I tested it out on our workbench, it seems to be fine. I have one neighbor I know is going to love me for this.

  • 2 weeks later...

I finally had some time to work on the mower. I added the amp, speakers and all the wiring this weekend. I went with a nice set of outdoor speakers up front and a small amplifier to power them. The speakers should hold up good in the elements plus I can adjust them with the swivel brackets. I'm using my HTC Fuze for the source. The last pic has the input cable going to the amp sitting in the seat.

remind me when i did that also i put in a stereo in a riding lawnmover too like an OG one and we took out the old engine(10HP)and put in a honda mower engine that produces 19 hp pluys with the stereo i put in two 6x9s on the side was hells sick

That's why they don't deliver.

Yer ass better go sit along the side of the road and wait.

You can't expect them to travel up some dirt road in a hick / back woods town. Thats how horror movies start :D

I explain things very simply and use analogies in terms of Pickles, and grape drink, pool noodles and jackhammers...if you can't put 2 and 2 together there man, There simply is not much more I can do.
