How does the center chamber where the subs fire at each other, effect tuning of the enclosure? I know many say its simply 2 ported boxes facing each other. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't a bandpass? How would one go about tuning the mid chamber? How would you tune the center chamber since its basically just a big port? Forevrbumpn Posted June 28, 2009 Report Posted June 28, 2009 its still 2- ported boxes facing each other a bandpass will have a compression chamber, this is not a compression chamber, nor is it any kind of 1/4 wave chamber/tunnel. its just a open chamber, no different than say a down firing box with a port facing a different direction Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

I'am only saying its not considered bandpass I'am sure the distance between the cones will change tuning to some sort, or maybe increase, or decrease box total Q, but those are factors that are not found in speaker box programs Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". I really like the design but, just curious as to how it works with that center chamber. edit: cuz I can't type. I'am sure thats just what he was left with space wise I mean the Escalade is only so large, and the airspace needed for 8-18s is pretty large... so what do you think?
