sierra mist
I don't want to replace the battery post with an aftermarket connector. Should I just use a ring terminal to fit the gauge wire I am using? Might seem like a noob question but I have replaced the battery post in my previous installs. Eddy722
Put a ring terminal on the power wire and put it on the battery... You don't need an aftermarket post..

Ok, I would normally cut off the factory one and slap on a new one. Kinda don't wanna do that with this vehicle.

sierra mist
are you doing the big three or something? Eventually, I probably won't have time to get around to that. I'm starting the install from scratch.
dmanson
you can use the battery stock terminal but aftermarket terminals just look better. dleccord
i highly recommend you using an after market battery terminal. when i upgraded both my positive and negative battery terminals, my dimming was gone; unless i'm bassing for a long ass time. dleccord
nah. not only that, the voltage in the back were within .01 volt instead of .03, so better connection i guess. Quote refs: chode69, superduper
Derrick824
Using a ring terminal will work fine. If this is for a Tahoe (I'm guessing because of your name) then I recommend switching to a dual post battery. Use the side posts for your stock wiring and the top post to add on for you system.
