Wire for second batt

My dad found a roll of some 2 gauge wire that his work couldn't use and gave it to me. I was wondering if I could wire a second batt with it, or at least do the big 3.

Markings on the side are "ESSEX 2 AWG TYPE THHN OR THWN OR MTW E53446* (UL) GASOLINE AND OIL RESISTANT II 600 VOLT VW-1"

Just wondering if this stuff should be okay, and what fusing I should be using on it.

If if it bigger than the wire you have right now than it wont hurt to run it to the trunk. As for the big 3 theres a thread stickied up here that really helps.

Should not be a problem as long as it is flexible enough

to route through your vehicle. Got to love a freebie

As of right now I have no wire running to the back; this will be my first extra-batt install. He told me that it's welding cable and that it will take "well over 300 amps." Is this or can I run that big of fusing on it?

if you do the big 3 with that i would do at least 2 runs and fuse each run to the battery at 150 amps. Just my opinion.

edit: just read its welding cable im not a big fan of that stuff at all, but read up on this.
