could be a glue joint on the coil came loose. So the coil and/or cone is bouncing around making a tapping noise. You will need to get the sub reconed.

Asking this is like asking is brand A is better than brand B, some are going to say yes, others say no.

Me, I just feed them clean power and play as I would normally.

I would normally agree and sat that you dont have to break in subs, but I did a install for my friend with 2 l7 15's and the manual said break them in or risk blowing them. He had the same problem you did sounded like the coil was bottoming out but was seperated. Next set he broke them in for two weeks and there still in there same power and box, 1 year later.

I wish every body had beat so I wouldnt have to turn my shit down. Fosgate for life running there shit since I was 16 going on 15 years strong. Not stopping any time soon.
