audiofanaticz Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 I opened it up and one of the capacitors inside of it broke off and the power terminal melted partly, There any way i can fix this? the question is, is it worth fixing? its prob going to cost around 80-100bucks for repair, not including shipping there and back which will be at least $40 both ways. www.db-r.com www.amprepaircenter.com are too places that do decent work. db-r seems to take a while longer because his work is to be done better, arc seems to have quicker turn around time, but can sometimes be flakey. there is also CIA Engineering but they are hacks and slap whatever together.

thallium Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 whatever u do do not send it to cia engineering...they FUCKING suck sent my amp there last year (hifonics goliath)...got it back in 3 days......when it was hooked up again...the problem still occurred and the damn thing caught on fire....and we heard a rattle from inside......it came back to me worse then when i had originally sent it.......so i sent it back and i still have not seen my amp since then......every week i call and i get the same bs story that they have trouble getting the parts blah blah blah.......its been several months...... edit - for the record i had a professional shop do my install... edit - i also bought a new amp hopefully it cmes in within the next week =) i havent had bass for over 8 months cuz of those fuckers!!
