ok so i have 2 re sx 15's and i am in need of an amp. i was looking at getting ethier the power acoustic bamf 4000 or the 5500 amp. i would like to put 1200 on each sub. the bamf 4000 says it can put 1200 on a 4ohm woofer and mine are both 2 ohm, so that would mean mine would each get 1200. but i have heard they are a little over rated so i was wondering if i should go with the 5500 because it would be 1700 on each, and then i would always have the ability to upgrade to bigger woofers. let me know what you think.

i Say look at the diablo audio Hellfire 2500. but of the 2 you talk about I would get the 5500. but take a look at the diablo and see if that could work out for ya.

The power acousticks are good budget amplifiers but like you said they are over rated... highly.. i would look around first maybe look into other brands such as HiFonics or sundown or what not. If your subwoofers are 2ohm speaker they are not dual voice coil you'd wire them in parrellel to 1 ohm so you'd need a good 3000watt amp to get around 1200 watts to each sub.. hope this info helps.. i'd save up your money and invest in a different brand personally but i've seen the bamf amps in action and they are decent budget woofers once again.

My subs are dual 2 ohm each. but yea, i should probly just wait and buy a better quality amp. is it better to put a amp on each sub, or to have one big one for both??

Dont think it really matters between 1 amp or 2, w.e works for you and your budget. It's a personal choice.
