Playa Named Joe
If I would see a picture of one, I would jizz in my pants twice, maybe three times in like 10 seconds. Quote 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix build
matt402
can we at least get a teaser pic of the motor or 4" coil?!...
cc_audio
I'm addicted to 4" coils. So, if rusty ever wants my business, he'll have to quit pushin the limits of the 3" and give in to 4". Neo's would be thug too. Quote It's all gone! The Celica Build Feedback If I buy something from you, DO NOT USE FEDEX!
Forevrbumpn
The new motor will be larger diameter then the lv5. I have told Rusty before he should have just machined a few of the lv5 motors out to work with a 4" coil and see what they could do. That lv5 is a good SPL platform, and i bet she would have been much loud with a 4" coil, but this new lv6 is going blow it away!!! But you already know this TJ. 1 problem with a 4" motor- Usually a 4" coils is about twice the weight of a 3" coil, jump up to a 8 layer coil, and your going more towards 3 times the weight of the 3" coil- added mass to a moving system kills SPL Reason why most record breaking subwoofers are 3" coils, is because they are more efficient with power than a 4" coil Just an example, pound for pound, watt for watt, a 4" coil cant touch a 3" coil of similar aspects, unless you have a motor design that will squeeze about 2-3 times the motor force of a 3" coil if you have a 3" coil sub with a 50lb motor doing a 150db with 4000rms a 4" coil sub will need a much bigger magnet assembly- or a lot more power- to get that 4" coil to the same spl as the 3" motor So your looking at something like the very common, and popular TRF motor, which is about what, 85+ lbs? but they use just a light 4 layer coil, with a tight gap- better Bl 4" coils are great for handling more power, and thats awesome, but more power over all is needed to get a 4" coil as loud as a 3" coil That isnt just from my mouth, its proven, tested, and well known Quote I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.
