Shopping for alternators for my new system, its going in a 4.0L 2006 Mustang to power a 12" BTL getting 2-3k RMS.

Anyone have a suggestion of an alternator to use? Was looking at a 230 AMP one from Powerbastards.com, any reviews on these?

So, I talked to DC and Mechman, DC has an alt for my car that does 120 idle and 200 rev'd, for $389. Mechman has one that does 160 idle and 270 rev'd for $399...

Which do you guys recommend? Keep in mind it only needs to push 2-3k watts.

I a run Mechman 250a rhino with in-dash regulator and love it. They do everything he says they do. Both of the companies your asking about have a good reputation they both have good customer service, and both there alts put out what their said to do. you can't loose either way you go I would personally go with the Mechman with the 270a you can't never have to much alt power

Under construction

soon to be:

2 DD Z9518's

8 lunar L1500's (500rms each)

Secondskin Dampner pro

250a Mechman rhino alt

4 runs of 2/0 (installed)

4 batteries (installed)

6-5 1/4's, 2-6 1/2's, 2-4in all ma audio (installed)

I apologize for not having the alternators up in the Mustang section on our website, those are going to be the next products I load.. Also, I'm not sure who gave you the numbers from us, but the smallest we build for those is 230 top end and 160 idle.. Also, our Ford Mustang alternators are large case AD244 alts, the *competition* alternators are just overwound Ford alternators.. If you were needing some serious firepower for your car, we do make a 275 amp, 200 @ idle for your car... Just FYI....

The only two that usually answer the phones at DC Power is Robbie or Dave. I'm glad that Robbie chimed in and made it more clear about what the offer. If you need any extra help or guidance, you can hit me up through an e-mail or a PM on the forums and I will be more than happy to assist you further.
