ported will always get louder than sealed with same amount of subs.

i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?

a properly built and designed ported box will be louder, not all ported boxes

Current Setup:

Factory HU with LOC

mids/highs-Insignia components

Sub- E8 in bass tube

Amp- sae-1200d

Show Setup:

HU-Sony MEX-1HD (brings massive respect for sony)

fronts - Infinity Kappa perfect comps

rears- Infinity Kappa coax

mid/high amp - Autotek 5600

Subs - 2 RE SE 15's

Sub Amps - 2xSAE-1200D

Box - 5cubes sealed

Wire- Lots of Knu 1/0

True story... On that note where can I find a good site to help with all the calculations and design?

I seem to remember a site, it was all blue you just punched in your info and it let you know port size and all that good stuff???

Contact James (user name) here on this site. Very reasonable prices and he gives you a cut list. you let him know what you have and how much space and what your trying to acomplish and he will get you a nice sketchup drawing and a cut list.
