I took the liberty of making a few corrections that I noticed while skimming through, it was an interesting article! Just trying to help you a little bit Scratchy! You wrote:

I wait patiently in the blistering sun for Alain and the hot little bantam you see before you. I allow myself to be distracted for one second by summers sunrays and im assaulted by a screech that could stop pacemakers for 2 miles away. The blue little devil flies past me and begs me to play catch up. I reverse out of the parking lot and I’m in hot pursuit desperately trying to catch it. Down the road and he is no where to be seen, but I know he’s close, I can still hear the screaming little bakkie of in the distance. I make a right turn with the hope that he decided the same mere moments ago. I spot him of in the distance and I put my foot down. Slowly I catch up and I can hear that lovely exhaust note coming from its rear end.

It seems the novel sport conversion Alain has done to his bantam works really well and I am sure he has won more than he’s fair share of those robot races that a lot of us Namibians are so fond off. It must’ve been my lucky day as Alain decided to slow down and allow me to take the lead. As I pass the blue bakkie, a deep rumbling of what can only be described as one serious sound system comes from the midst of the bantams interior, 2 15” woofers no less. Arriving at the shoot location I can barely wait to get my grubby little paws all over this mint 1.6 bantam.

Everything done to this car was done to attract attention, even if it was unwittingly. From the gorgeous front bumper to the delicious 17" Zax Classics rims finished in charcoal, it just makes you want to look closer and appreciate its presence.

Jumping around to the backside, one can’t help but notice the canopy, a bit out of place, but it has a function.

You see, this bantam has seen more than its fair share of sound systems and the car received some minor surgery to fit its very first system. Four 15" Rockford Fosgate woofers were to be fitted as its first system, but due to space constraints, the cabin was cut to allow access into the bed of the bakkie. This is where the canopy comes in, it keeps the huge box out of sight and out of water. Nowadays the bantams system is much milder and to be honest, I prefer it that way. 2 15" Rockford Punch p1 subwoofers now reside behind the seat and fill all the low notes that Alain requires from them, while a Rockford FNQ split system heads up the higher notes. A Rockford t8004 amplifier backed by a lightning audio capacitor powers these components and it all sounds mighty fine if you ask me. All in all, this little bakkie is a decent all rounder, with the looks, performance and sound 100% sorted.

Boet, you need a bantam
