VistaV6
Would the enclosure work if the subs fired out of the top and the port fired out of the back? Could some1 also clear up how bad it would be to have a 1 in port. Thanks. Quote SUCCESS is a decision, NOT a dream. You have to name the price you are willing to pay to get it. B4SSB0Y
Having a 1 inch port is going to make alot of port noise and chuffing sounds. Like the others said go with a 4 inch port, Yes its going to cut into your amount of space you want for your subs but thats what happens... Bigger port = bigger box. Subs up port back should work find after all thats how alot of SUV's run their boxes. VistaV6
Ok yeah, so RE tells me that if I made it 36" wide, 11" tall, 20" deep, and a 4" port 1, with 4" port 2, I would have ~ 3 cu ft, and 33.5hz tuning. (This is with the 12's firing out of the top and the port firing out of the back) Tell me if you guys think this is good enough to go into construction. Quote SUCCESS is a decision, NOT a dream. Torres
a box 11" high, 36" wide and 20" deep with a port of 3.5" x 10.5" and a length of 22" (18.5 physical inches) gives you 2.88 cubes of space after all displacement and tunes the box to 34.55 hz. that will sound fine when compared to the 33 hz you were aiming for. and maintains enough port area without sucking out all your box volume. doing a 4" x 10.5" port, the port would have to be 30" long and would get you to 34.18 hz with only 2.59 cubes of space. and just fyi...punching in those numbers to double check on the RE calc wont help, i use the one i've made. it's easier (imo) and more accurate
