Blue
That is your Mass Air Flow sensor. You have to have the sensor in the middle of the air flow in the pipe. You just cant put it any where, it has to be in the main air stream. Instead of just putting the new filter on, you can get an aftermarket intake system. You can always modify the new intake system so you can have room for the battery. If you have to, just cut and splice new wires to make the sensor longer. I would suggest that you solder the wires, instead of butt connectors. That is what I would do. Just be careful and dont drive it. You can do serious damage with out the sensor connected. Good luck with it all. Quote formerly known as Blue86f150 its a 4th order just because its tuned in the 40z doesnt mean it wont reach down and jiggle your balls at sub 30 hz frequencies. hertz hurts
It's not the air intake temp sensor. It is the mass air flow sensor. The air intake temp sensor is the one thats on the back side of the corogated tube that the "new" air filter is clamped to. Mass air flow sensors have 4 wires going to them. Air intake temp sensors have 2. Edited August 26, 2009 by hertz hurts
brewer_brewer
that is a mass airflow sensor for sure. did you just replace your stock airbox with a cone filter and no intake tube? you know you are gonna loose power when it is hot right? BulletInjection
weird that they put a mass airflow sensor in there because a lot of people put aftermarket intakes in... brewer_brewer
^^^seems normal to me. alot of cars are like that. and any good aftermarket intake will have a bong (not that kind, stoner) welded into it for that MAS to mount into.
