shainemcconnell
i have seen a few amps go into protect, and sadly never recover, usually something internally wrong/damaged. 2010 IDBL Rookie 1 North American Champion 2009 IDBL Rookie 1 Fl State Champion 2009 EBB Fly Weight 3rd Place Fl State Finals 2006 Silver Grand Prix GXP :Diablo Audio Hellfire 1000.1, JL Audio 300/4, One 13W7, ZR650, VR690, JL Cleansweep setup. Ben Building
What have you done since the amp went into protect? Did you check your voltage and load impedance? Try removing the speaker leads and RCA jacks from the amp and seeing if it still goes into protection when you power it up.
3gAccord
I can't say more than everything already posted, so... Maybe a loose ground? I had my Hifonics go into protection and never return after I had a vacant speaker wire hold a ground for a while (no subs were hooked up and neither were the RCA's. Pull the fuse when you take your subs out!! Hard lesson...) My latest project; 87 Accord Hatchback!... Only got my 6 1/2's in it right now... I'm working on shining my engine to show quality right now, then I'll put it in. System will come around the 1st.
Boon
Try it in another car. If it still does it, probably a bad output transistor. 10.x volts fo' life!
