j_black10 Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 Right now I'm running my FI Q18s dual 1ohm off a Hifonics Brutus BX1500D. They pump pretty good but you can tell they need more power. I'm trying to decide what amp or amps is best for them and also the best deal!! Here's the ones I've looked at: Hifonics BXi-2006D - $370 2 Refurb Kicker zx1000.1 - $570 Refurb RF T20001BD - $600 The Hifonics is pretty tempting because it's the cheapest and if my bx1500 is pushing them pretty good now, the bxi-2006 should be just right. Need your info and suggestions guys!!!!! Also, which is better on the electrical system, running one big amp or 2 smaller amps? Quote AudioControlRockford FosgateXSPower
Eddy722 Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 Wait a few weeks for Sundown 1000 amp. Will be cheap. Quote
Derrick824 Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 I'd recommend the new RF T1500-1bd. They're going for $500 on Ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Rockford-Fosgate-P...1QQcmdZViewItem I haven't seen any birthsheets on these yet, but if its like the other Power amps then you should get a good 2000+watts. These amps are also supposed to be super efficient so they'll be easier on the electrical system. Quote
j_black10 Posted April 10, 2007 Author Report Posted April 10, 2007 (edited) I've thought about the T1500-1bd also. The birthsheets I've seen average around 1750rms though, none over 1800rms. Plus for $70 more I can have more power with the 2 zx1000.1s. I've seriously though about running the 2 kicker zx1000.1, but they are 2ohm stable and my subs series are 1.4ohm each. I'm wondering if they can run at 1.4 ohms. Edited April 10, 2007 by j_black10 Quote AudioControlRockford FosgateXSPower

That's actually a little disappointing that they're not under rated any more than that. My next vote goes for the T20001bd. There's no doubt that it'll provide enough power. Quote

j_black10 Posted April 11, 2007 Author Report Posted April 11, 2007 (edited) I'm also wondering if a T20001bd can handle a .7 ohm load. Edited April 11, 2007 by j_black10 Quote AudioControlRockford FosgateXSPower

Eddy722 Posted April 11, 2007 Report Posted April 11, 2007 The rockford power series can handle .7. Most 1 ohm stable amps can handle a .7 ohm load.. Quote
