Has anyone ever heard or preformed a mod on there cruise control, which would allow you to set your RPMs in park or neutral? I would really like to know how this is done. Thank you.

Is this something that you've seen before? If you wanted to spend the money, and depending on your car, you may be able to get something like HPTuners or similar software and make a custom tune w/ your idle set higher to use at comps. Maybe...

Pretty good idea actually. Is it bad for the motor?

Not sure, really. If you're in park and idling I don't see how it would be that different than sitting in park and revving it with the gas pedal. I wouldn't drive around with a tune like that, as I'm sure a high idle like that would be rough on your tranny when driving around. But, if you went to a comp and got set up, pulled up the custom tune and just used it for the comp and switched it back to your stock tune when you were leaving, I don't think it would be that bad.

But I'm no expert.

You could try to rig up a second throttle cable into the cab that can be operated and set by hand.

Good idea. Unless your car is a drive by wire system.

I was trying to keep it simple. I don't really use my cruise control, and I was thinking that it would be cool if I could just hit the button, pull the leaver, rev my engine up and let go. When I was done I could just hit the button or tap the brakes and I'm back to normal.

In the Zuki world, we use bicycle gear selector cables and rig them to the gas pedal to hold the pedal down for warm-up, hill stalls, and winching.

I could find the writeup if you are interested.

My latest project; 87 Accord Hatchback!... Only got my 6 1/2's in it right now... I'm working on shining my engine to show quality right now, then I'll put it in. System will come around the 1st.

Sounds like what I suggested earlier. But with a how-to it sounds like.
