Nightshade
where is the diagram of how to strap amps? i seen it the other day but idk where In your 1500d manual. It's very easy though. All you need to do is take some 8 guage and run it from the -'s on each amp to one another. Then take a single channel of an rca and run it from the Br in on the master amp to the Br out on the slave amp. Make sure the rca's are in the input on the master amp. Then you use the + terminals from the mater amp as the + wire for the subs and you use the + terminals from the slave amp for the - wires to the sub. You better look at a diagram though. Nightshade
doesnt really sound that hard though. It's not, it's just better to have the diagram right there when doing it. I just strapped my amps for the first time about a month ago and I had to have the manual in the car when I was doing it to make sure it was done right. troy
ok i got another question. would it be better to get 4 amps and run a pair strapped at 2 ohms on each sub or to get 2 amps and just run one amp to each sub at .5ohms??? iirc higher ohm loads draw less current and have less distortion right?? also warrenty still applies at 1 ohm right?? but would i see the same power out of 1 amp at .5 vs. 2 strapped. bkolfo4
ok when putting a amp on each coil of a dvc sub how do you set the amp so each coils is recieving the exact amount of power? Just FYI. . .It really does not matter if they are getting the same exact amount of power. . . ok i got another question. would it be better to get 4 amps and run a pair strapped at 2 ohms on each subor to get 2 amps and just run one amp to each sub at .5ohms??? iirc higher ohm loads draw less current and have less distortion right?? also warrenty still applies at 1 ohm right?? but would i see the same power out of 1 amp at .5 vs. 2 strapped. If this is a daily driver, and you have the extra money, go for 4 amps. . .They more than likely are not going to double their power from 1 ohm to 0.5 ohms, so the 4 amps will be more power and less stress on the amps. Or sell the 1500's and get a pair of 3500's. troy
Link to strapping amps with some nice pics.http://www.sundownaudio.com/index.php/freq...-questions.html yep thats exactly the page i was looking for. but i see 2 outputs coming form the amps now. so what would the impedance of the two outputs?? 4 ohms Right? the tied internally to 2ohms ??? you could only have one output at 2 ohms correct??
