Rogers Posted September 2, 2009 Report Share Posted September 2, 2009 powa is almost everythingbl does tell u something about the strength of the motor, but that doesnt always correlate to power handling soft parts (clearly not a 'spec') play a huge roll in loudness...more spiders, bigger coils, different types of cones...all goes towards power handling but bl isnt everything...i mean if u have a sub with a fs of 26 and another with an fs of like 48 both with the same bl....the second could probably get louder (but that is speaking in terms of burps) i would say the q factors go more towards enclosure type. but impedence changes a lot of the specs....a lot of the q mesurements, bl, fs....all change a little as impedence changes... oh, rogers...u shouldnt look at magnetic weight...although weight and a higher bl are probably correlated...u need to look at the bl of a sub....i mean what if the magnet weighed 80lbs...but wasnt magnetized...lolz lol only audiobahn does that shit...lol... anyways i dont look at that by itself.... this is just an extream example but if you are comparing 2 subs and one has a powerhandling of 600rms and has a 300oz mag and the other one is rated for the same power but has a 50oz mag.... you can kinda guess which one is bull shitting... i look at the magnet weight as a type of way to determine how beefy a woofer is.... just one of the many determining factors in my purchases....
