DUBIE Posted September 4, 2009 Report Posted September 4, 2009 (edited) okay so last week my laptop was asking for the windows activation code i dont know why. and since that time i still have it. i dont have my start menu anymore or my icons. i already tried everything to get the codes for it and nothing has helped me. on the bottom of the page it says "message number:45090" if that helps you guys. i took it to some place to have a check on it and they tell me the windows i have has expired or something. inm Posted September 4, 2009 Report Posted September 4, 2009 if it is Windows 7, I'm pretty sure all the Beta activation codes were scheduled to expire August 30, so that would be problem there. Bunker Posted September 4, 2009 Report Posted September 4, 2009 at boot up hit F6 or F12 depending on your settings and keep looking until you find restore to factory defaults. If you have a recovery disc made you can do it that as well. sounds like you have a corrupt file or shadow file that attacked your windows files.
