Guest
only thing that comes to mind is a cut somewhere along the wire and shorted to a piece of metal. + no fuse.
CaptainzPlanetz
Loose Ground, it was probably arcing which caused it to melt, had the same thing happen to a fuse holder of mine, the wire wasnt the tightest and would arc every once in a while, and I didnt notice anything performance wise, didnt find out about it until I saw it. Namosh
I'd say it wasn't making a good connection at the amp. It was essentially an electrical bottleneck and caused it to get really hot. Quote My Ram Quad Cab Blow-through
Guero3384
it being loose was the only thing he could think of but wanted to post it up on here to make sure it wasnt something else and just to get some ideas. the amp was working fine when he took it out. the wire strands fused themselves to the amp i guess because it got so hot. can he still use the amp and just try to remove and clean out all the wire in the terminal or does he need to get a new one put on the board before he reinstalls it? it looks worse in the picture than it really is its just the plastic around it that melted and theres not that much wire in there that hes going to have to try to get out.
