Need to get my Alpine H701 fixed..who can fix it??

Recommended Posts

So this is the deal... Try and follow it...please please please help

I was bumpin a couple weeks ago and all of a sudden the system turns off (No sound but HU is still on and playing)

So i figured something maybe came loose where the battery and brain are...(btw fuses are good)

so somehow my dumbass clips the top of the amp with my allen wrench when im unscrewing the power so i let go and try and quickly move the wrench off the amp , sparks fly, i burn the top of the amp where the allen wrench hit. and my finger is pretty burnt from the heat of the allen wrench. after i try and move it iirc i hear something and i see smoke coming from under the false floor (this is the point where i freak the fuck out)

so i called andy over to try and help.

originally i was gunna see if it was a remote problem so i was gunna touch power and remote to see if the amps turn on... well after i burnt my shit i took the 100.4 out and kept the 3k in to see if that worked...i turned the car on and the HU wouldnt turn on.

i open the 100.4 and it looks fine? and i get everything out and nothing looks burnt.

But there was a screw that was holding my false floor down that looked like it melted and the carpet was burnt too (so im not sure if that was where the smoke came from)

i hooked up the amp again (no initial spark from the Power) i touch the power and remote and turn the car on... headunit doesnt turn on but the lights turn on on the amp.

turn the car off and turn it back on (with out pwr and rmt touching) the HU turns on then i touch the pwr and rmt and the lights on the amp turn on and the HU stays on but no sound.

i hook the 3k up to the 4g where the 100.4 was...there was an initial spark but it doesnt turn on.

voltage to everything is fine btw

is there anyway i can check the rca's with a mulimeter to make sure they work

any idea fellas i am in need of some help. i have spent soo much money on my system and i cant figure out whats wrong :( please help

check sig for system details

any idea please post them up

that sucks i ve been there before with problems

if you wanna check the rca real fast get a cheap pair and just run them.

i would take the hu out check on grounds

in the past i have started fires and melted wires becuse of bad grounds

i have had problems in my car with blowing fuses and not being able to find them.

made the radio not work, ran hu owen power supply for memory and keep acc switch with key

that made it work again.

i dont really know what to tell you but a few ideas maybe

Maybe your ground came out of one of the amps. Probably smoked up the RCAs and the ground traces on the headunit. Also the input circuit on the amp might have suffered depending on what sort of design it is..

You really need to break the system up and troubleshoot it item-by-item.

ya i figured i would need to part it out and test...but i check the rca's and usually they would either look/smell burnt but they look fine..and the rca's on the amp too

so check grounds?

Could well be your headunit's ground track that's gone out... amongst other things by the sound of it :(

you can check your rca's though. set you dmm to ac voltage & put the positive to one part of the rca & the negatice to the other (outer ring or post) then play a song with some beat that changes from high to low, see if the meter changes with the beat. thats what I do anyway.
