Hmmm. I disagree - I'd wall for 1 or 2 - but not for 4 -

When you have that much cone area with 4 18's the massive airspace isn't an issue anymore because they move the air like nuthin

1 or 2 18's has a harder time movin that same amout of air - Therefore I'd rather just decrease the actual airspace , so I can bang louder.

anytime you cut down the volume you need to pressurize, you'll see improvement. 4 18's in a wall would be better than two 18's (given both boxes are equal) because you have that much more cone area pressurizing the same space as 2 18's. like you said, the 2 18's have a harder time moving the same amount of air, but with both both setups in a wall the 2 18's would still have a harder time moving the same amount of air as the 4 18's :)

why not take the design that the kid did for you and put a peice of wood in between the two spots for the subs and the port making it 2 seperate chambers one for each sub that way in the future when you do get another sub you wont have to change anything

Have not been around the computer.

That box has a divider in it making it where it can be used with only 1 sub. Build half of it if you only want half right now. . .

Current system:

1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s

Previous systems:

2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz.

1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.

it might mess with the tunning a little bit but it should still be in the same ball park for each chamber

What do you Guys Think? Should I build a box for 12 18's instead of 1 - that way i can upgrade easily?

Here lets do it this way. Have you ever used a router before, and cut cardboard templates before, if so all we would have to do is design the box and after you have your front piece in and sealed off. Just build a frame out of 2x4 to the height you want the sub to be at then bolt the 2x4 frame to your van and bolt the box to the 2x4 frame. Then make you back piece seal it off just like the front and there is your wall. None of this may make any since but if I was at your house or you were here I could show you what I'm talking about. I visualize the design in my head first then go to paper.
