Hostility Posted February 18, 2010 Author Report Posted February 18, 2010 quick update, got the box painted, i tried rocker guard this time, didn't come out as good as i thought, but it gets the job done for now. i cant seem to find a good spray on liner to give it that nice hard wrinkle finish. i can always redo it later, also sprayed the inside with this sound dampener spray made for box's and vehicles, it expired in 2004 haha so i figured use it or toss it, tried it out on a piece of wood, and it was fine, so i sprayed the inside with it. just got the box terminals done, so im hoping to get out tomorrow morning early to climb under my truck and re-sand my grounds (damn winter) then wire in my saz-3500D then toss the box in and the nightshades, also was going to try to lower the false floor so the box didn't sit so high up, but im tossing around an idea for having the amp on the front of the box, so im going to leave it for now, just want to test the box out, see how it sounds, and have some beat finally! also going to try to remember to grab my gf's camera tomorrow so i can take videos, i only have an D-SLR camera. 99 s10 4.3L Big 3 220amp alt Odyssey 1500 Odyssey 2150 Northstar NSB 75 Sundown Audio 3500D Sundown Audio 125.2 3 Sundown Audio SA-12's Alpine H/U RF Power Comp set 6.5" RF 3 sixty line driver 5.25 cubes @ 31hz

Hostility Posted February 19, 2010 Author Report Posted February 19, 2010 box is in, and im not happy, box flex's i think the brace came loose, rattles, and doesnt seem to be loud, my old box sounded way better compared to this.... so i dont know what im doing wrong, but im getting fed up with it, sick of building box's and not being happy with results..... Edit: here is a quick video of the box rattle, you have to listen carefully, does it on punchy notes, well i bypassed my line driver and put the rcas from the head unit straight into the amp and re did my gain, and it sounds a lot better, a lot louder then yesterday, but the box flex's way to much still so im going to buy some threaded rod and brace like crazy, but i still dont know if i like the box or not, doesn't seem as deep or clean as my other box. maybe its the subs firing up, or the port is behind my seat now compared to subs forward and the port being in the middle. so i dont know what to do really. ive been told to tune in the 40ish range closer to my trucks resonance but i like more of the ground pounder style, also ive been told the box is not big enough for being tuned so low... i need a box builder to help me out! 99 s10 4.3L Big 3 220amp alt Odyssey 1500 Odyssey 2150 Northstar NSB 75 Sundown Audio 3500D Sundown Audio 125.2 3 Sundown Audio SA-12's Alpine H/U RF Power Comp set 6.5" RF 3 sixty line driver 5.25 cubes @ 31hz

I'm thinking about doing the same thing eventually but I'm a big dude and I don't want to scoot the seat forward and get molested by my steering wheel everyday.
