Melted fuse block and problem with amp

Ok so this what happened. I was playing my system when all of a sudden my subs go off and my lights start dimming in and out constantly and I'm like WTF. I check my amp and I notice that the protect light is also flickering, I turn the radio off and it stops but when I turn it back on it starts again. Then I when under the hood and took the fuse out, might I also add that the fuse is hot, then I turn the radio on the flickering stops....until I put the the fuse back in. What do you guys think the problem is? Need some ideas before I start going through my ride

Also about a month and a half ago something like this happen(the fuse wasn't even blown)

New fuse holder as a start, maybe it was due to a bad connection in it, it may have been sparking or connecting repetadly on and off resulting in the lights dimming and brightening

Well the fuse holder has been replaced

Ok, i assume you checked for good grounding and connections all through.

You could try opening the amp up, if there is a problem big enough to dim the lights it should be obvious from a quick look, just make sure it doesnt void your warintee, worth a look though.

check for frayed power wire. replace fuse/fuseholder. check for + and - power wires touching on amp.

heat is usely cused by a lose wire i asume. bad ground

cars rust and if the paint was ground of the metal it will rust that could result in a bad ground

You have an intermittent short in your power wire somewhere.

yea...either a connection sucks somewhere.......or ur power wire is grounding out somewhere (which has happened to me and my whole car shut off for a split second)
