you guys say its ok to play my sub full tilt instead of breaking them in but after playing them full tilt i go back and touch the middle of the sub and its warm. is that ok?

Once or twice I have missed having a back seat / rear hatch, but all in all people love to see a walled vehcile. It just screams "i'm not fucking around with my setup, im loud"

warm is ok. the center is where the coil is. its just heating up and the heat is dissappating up through the cone. My audiopulse axis has an aluminum cone and it says it helps cool it.

What sub and amp do you have?

if your smelling electrical then your burning the coils. make sure your not clipping. if your subs are smelling at all, i would say that's bad lol.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

there are a few tutorials here with how to set your gains either with an oscilloscope or a digital multimeter

a new sub is going to smell, there is glue on the voicecoil holding it to the former and that commonly heats up and smells funky during break in. the bad smell is the copper actually burning. they smell very similar though, so be careful.

you should be able to play them when they're new, just keep in mind they will loosen up over time and will experience some sort of a break in regardless.
