DD Mids + RE XXX Mids Sound Test

Recommended Posts

My buddy got some high end DD comps that are literally 2x as loud as my RE XXX with half the power and sound better. Makes me want to switch now lol but heres the videos we took.. The 2nd video is kind of an inside joke..

do you have the newer or older xxx comps?

The XXX were designed with SQ and midbass in mind, esp the way that the crossovers are designed.

as for DD, im not sure what they had in mind when designing theirs. I have not heard them so i cannot say.

Alright, so i read in the info on youtube that it was 2 sets of 6.5" components between the two of you. so what we are hearing is a set of DD components, and RE xxx components? and the DD's are at half volume?

how did you get the cars to play the same thing at the same time?

Yea this kinda makes me wonder. I imagined that these comps would have been a little more evenly matched. Are his mids sealed?

But kudos to DD if they did hands down smack the shit out of the XXX mids :D

The DD's are at half POWER not half volume. My RE's are running at 200x2 and his DD's are running at 100x2. It took as about a minute or two to keep restarting the tracks to sync them.

Hmmm I may try this with my RF mids and see how well they do.....I know I can hear the vocals clearly two blocks away with the doors closed and the windows down.
