audiofanaticz Posted September 24, 2009 Report Share Posted September 24, 2009 A fuse dont really change how the amp plays. If the fuse is too small, it will blow. If its too big, it wont blow unless the current draw exceeds the size of the fuse. Putting a 300amp fuse on your power wire for an amp that requires only a 100amp fuse for example is not going to make the amp put out more power or make your stereo any louder. But what it will do is make it harder to blow incase a problem does arrive, such as a short in the amp or power wire. So if you got a short in your main power wire for example, your car will just start on fire much easier, because its going to take more current to blow that fuse.
