Fish Chris
So I just got my PC setup, and so far, I'm very happy with it. Even Windows Vista {that so many people talk crap about} seems to work fine for me. They say it's a memory hog ? Maybe I just don't notice it, as now I have 8gigs of memory available, and I'm coming from my old PC which had 512mb total, with an integrated graphics card Anyway, I'm just wondering what kind of "positive" (and negative, if their are any) differences I might see from upgrading to Win 7. Only $119 for the upgrade right here > http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1218095770599 Worth it, or not ? Your opinions please, Fish PS, Almost forgot the $10K question....... Is their somewhere I could get a trial version ????? ....for free Edited September 26, 2009 by Fish Chris
mr.p
i dont think its worth it, for 117$ it better be something brand new and fresh not another vista clone. Quote DCAUDIO BALLS DEEP
Fish Chris
So, your saying I should wait however many years, for MicroSoft to come out with something else ? ....or, are you one of the guys who uses / recommends a non-MicroSoft OS ??? The reason I ask, is that it kind of sounds like your saying > Vista sucks..... so just stick with Vista ??? Thank you for the response though, Fish i dont think its worth it, for 117$ it better be something brand new and fresh not another vista clone. 1992Chevy K1500
I would. It's supposed to use less memory than Vista (IIRC, Vista uses about 1 GB at idle; and 7 is supposed to use half that). Quote My comp setup (Not bad for what it is): HP Compaq Presario V6120US laptop with: 15.4" widescreen AMD Turion 64 X2 1.6GHz processor 2x1GB stick DDR2 SDRAM (667 Mhz) Seagate Momentus 500GB SATA HDD 128MB shared video memory Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit 12 cell Lithium Ion battery (actual battery usage time: 6 hours) What it does: On a USB 2.0 Wireless card

Sp33dyG
most likely 64 bit cuz 32bit wont be able to see no more than ~3gig's of ram Quote the only person i wouldnt let build my box would be Ray. Bigdaddy1986
most likely 64 bit cuz 32bit wont be able to see no more than ~3gig's of ram Was just asking because some people could put 8 in and think they're using it all but are on a 32 bit system
